Winnie The Pooh Birthday Party
Today is Tyler's 3rd birthday! Sometimes the chaotic newborn times seem like yesterday. How did three years fly by this quickly?!
Tyler loves reading his set of Winnie the Pooh books. Each book is a chapter from the original A.A. Milne classic. His favorites are Eeyore Has A Birthday, and Winnie the Pooh and Some Bees. So I figured a Pooh-themed birthday party was meant to be. He especially loved the blue balloons.
I had activities for the kids planned - pin the tail on Eeyore, a beehive pinata, create your own set of pooh ears - but with the weather still over 90, we ended up just having a pool party.
It was easy to find sweet food to incorporate into the theme, but I also wanted to include savory food as well. The falafel pockets were supposed to be reminiscent of Kanga and her pouch. Hubs had to remind me to misspell some of the words. The vegetable tray came out better than I had anticipated, thanks to my wonderful friend Jennifer who put it together while I was rushing around like a madwoman making the frosting. The cake pops were a huge hit (wish I had made more), but my absolute favorite were the beehive cupcakes.
Tyler liked them a lot too. Happy birthday, squirt!
We were so sad to miss this! How lucky is Tyler to have parents plan such amazing and tasty parties!?!?!?
ReplyDeleteGah this is the cutest darn party ever! I love all the attention to detail you put into the party! The honey pot cake pops are adorable, and all the themed name food is genius! Great job on this party! I can't wait to see what next year's birthday party will "bee"!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Tyler. Looks like you had a ton of fun.
ReplyDeleteThis is soooooo cute, Suzanne!!! OMG, my favorites are the picture of Tyler holding the balloons and those honey pot cake pops are too cute. Happy late birthday to Tyler!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like an awesome party Suzanne! My favorite pic is of Tyler holding the balloons!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it looks like a fabulous party "Kelly of Simply Kelly Designs".. I think Tyler looks pretty cute in both pics.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute party. Do you mind telling me where did you get the bee hive drink dispenser? Adorable :)
ReplyDeleteLidia,
ReplyDeleteThanks! I got the drink dispenser at Old Time Pottery.
Hi, those cupcakes are just great! May I ask where you got the beehive pattern paper? I'm in the UK and I've looked everywhere with no luck!
ReplyDeleteThank you

Eliana,
ReplyDeleteI got to beehive paper and ribbon from a craft store chain called Michael's.

This column reminds me of a continued time ago if in academy we acclimated to accept a accountable (with able lectures - although I don’t bethink about the exams: P) alleged "handwriting improvement". It sounds absolutely a funny but accessible advance now :)

I can't wait to see your examples of how your handwriting has evolved! I am obsessed with the different forms that hand writing takes. I love collecting old postcards just to see the writing.
